Programs

The Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment fosters collaboration, encourages the use of innovation, promotes coordination between transportation investments and land use planning, and efficiency in transportation planning among all modes within the Transportation Secretariat.

 Through the Office's three program areas, VTrans, Performance Management, and SMART SCALE, OIPI seeks to:

1. Develop the Statewide Transportation Plan and assist the Commonwealth Transportation Board in the development of a comprehensive, multimodal transportation policy
2. Develop measures and targets related to the performance of the Commonwealth's surface transportation network
3. To implement the statewide prioritization process developed by the Commonwealth Transportation Board
